UK: Dredging on River Clyde About to Begin

According to EveningTimes, the dredging operation on the River Clyde is to get underway in Glasgow.

This dredging maintenance work will start on Monday at Kelvin Harbour.

Work to remove the sediment that is washed down the River Kelvin will be carried out by the plough dredger, Ben Crom, which is operated by Coastworks of Fairlie.

Over the two weeks, Ben Crom will work 10 hours a day, ploughing out more than 1000 cubic metres of silt for disposal by Clydeport.

Kelvin Harbour will be closed for two weeks to allow the essential dredging work to be carried out.

This dredging operation is being managed by Kelvin Harbour Ltd and funded by Glasgow City Council with support from Clydeport.
