USA: Sheboygan River Dredging About to Begin

Sheboygan River Dredging About to Begin

A portion of the Sheboygan River dredging project is currently on hold, but dredging upriver is scheduled to begin in a few weeks, according to whbl.com.

Economic Development Director Chad Pelishek said Thursday that the EPA has withdrawn the contract for the contractor, who was to dredge the river from the 8th Street Bridge to the mouth.

That contract is being re-bid. Pelishek said the dredging from The 8th Street Bridge to Kiwanis Park is set to go. Pelishek says the de-watering will take place at the former Alliant property.

Every 5-7 minutes, starting July 9th, a truck will be leaving that property, creating a huge impact on traffic downtown. Pelishek said the trucks will be traveling through the rotary and out Indiana Avenue to Taylor Drive.
