Faversham Creek Dredging Set to Start

Divers have spent the week installing an automatic control system on Faversham Creek’s sluice gates, reports thisiskent.co.uk.

The three-week operation will allow more water to be retained in the basin behind the bridge.

The dive team has also been clearing tons of rubbish.

Leaks in the gates have been sealed and that means there will be much more water in the basin.” said Swale Councillor Mike Cosgrove, chairman of the Faversham Creek Collective.

Medway Ports Authority will be dredging near the gates and removing more rubbish.

The new system will provide a much better outlook and water will flow into the creek more efficiently.
