Newport Beach Harbor Commission to Review Development Projects

The Newport Beach Harbor Commission plans to review development projects worth about $100 million.

The Daily Pilot reports that the projects range from more dredging in Newport Harbor to replacing Balboa Island’s seawalls.

Chris Miller, the Harbor Resources Manager, said: “The harbor has never had a complete plan for specific projects, it has always been reactionary.”

The grand total includes about $9 million of dredging projects that were either completed or already approved by the City Council.

According to the Daily Pilot, the Commission will review the findings at its 6 p.m. meeting tomorrow in the Council Chambers, 3300 Newport Blvd.
