Army Corps Reveals Plan for Moriches Bay Dredging

The New York District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes to perform maintenance dredging of the Long Island Intracoastal Waterway Federal Navigation Project, NY, in the Moriches Bay section of the channel.

The proposed maintenance dredging, which consists of a basic requirement and an option, would remove up to 15,000 cubic yards (CY) of predominately sand to a depth of up to 6 feet below Mean Low Water with 2 feet allowable overdepth.

The channel is in Suffolk County, NY. The estimated cost range for this project is between $1,000,000.00- $5,000,000.00.
