The Port Macquarie Hastings Council has introduced a plan for the Lake Cathie dredging.
According to ABC News, the council plans to dredge an area at the eastern side of the Ocean Drive Bridge.
The sand dredged from the lake will be used to reinforce eroded beachfront areas at Lake Cathie.
