“It’s just what the area needed,” said St. Augustine Beach Mayor S. Gary Snodgrass after the renourishment project was completed.
“The recent work, which started in February and was finished last month, is part of a 50-year commitment by the Corps of Engineers to keep the beach renourished. This is the third in a series of projects that have to be done periodically, depending on the weather,” he added.
According to staugustine.com, the St. Augustine Beach renourishment work costed about $16.2 million.
