USA: Bids Out for Bald Head Island Dredging

According to the village’s newsletter, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting bids for the dredging of a channel adjacent to Bald Head Island.

The dredging program will replace sand on South and West beaches on the island.

The bid calls for dredging of sand that is expected to be used to shore up the existing groin field and address the scouring that is occurring on West Beach.
