20th Armourstone Users Group Meeting Set for February 7

The 20th Armourstone Users Group meeting is taking place on Thursday 7 February 2013 and will be held at HR Wallingford’s conference facilities in Oxfordshire.

This meeting offers the opportunity for the exchange of news and views about the use of armourstone for coastal defences and breakwaters in the UK and all round the world. It is a chance for delegates to receive useful technical updates and to network with others from the sector. Regular participants of the meeting include those involved in the supply, specification and use of armourstone.

It has proved of interest to all practitioners in the field and a unique opportunity for the meeting of quarry operators, shipping companies, contractors, designers and end-user authorities.

The meeting also includes the young professionals award and this year’s prize of an expenses-paid trip to the Larvik quarries in Norway is sponsored by Stema Shipping. Young engineering professionals are invited to submit short written papers describing some aspect of an armourstone project they have been involved in, whether in concept development, detailed design or construction.
