Contractor Sought for Charleston Harbor Dredging

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced a plan for the Charleston Harbor Anchorage Basin dredging program.

This work consists of maintenance dredging of approximately 922,000 cubic yards of unclassified material from Charleston Harbor Anchorage Basin and Shem Creek. The dredged material shall be deposited in the Morris Island Disposal Area North Cell, including repair of the Morris Island Disposal Area perimeter dikes and spillways.

The work is located in Charleston County, South Carolina. The work includes complying with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Protection Act.

The solicitation will be posted on or about April 1, with bids due May 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm EST.
