USA: Caseville Harbor Dredging Reaches Final Phase

USA Caseville Harbor Dredging to Be Completed by August

The Caseville Harbor dredging project has gone a little behind the schedule, which was set this spring.

The project should now be completed before the Cheeseburger Festival starts on Aug. 9., reports michigansthumb.com.

“They are about 60 percent done right now and the goal is to be done by the first week of August — weather permitting. They had some trouble with the pump, but got it fixed and it’s pumping better than it did before. They’ve been pumping heavily and have been working long hours,” Caseville DPW Supervisor Dave Quinn said.

“They’ve been able to stay out of the way of the boaters, for the most part,” Quinn said.

The dredging project was initially planned to be finished by the end of May, however due to permits and weather conditions it experienced some delays.
