USA: DredgeFest Louisiana Set for January 2014

DredgeFest Louisiana Set for January 2014

DredgeFest Louisiana workshop, organized by the Dredge Research Collaborative, is scheduled for January 11-17, 2014, in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

The first Dredgefest was held in NYC, one month before Hurricane Sandy made landfall.

DredgeFest Louisiana is a symposium, field expedition, and intensive design workshop about the human manipulation of sediment and the soft landscape architecture of rivers and coasts. It is an encounter between government agencies, designers, theorists, academics, corporate practitioners, industry experts, students, and the public.

“DredgeFest is a roving event series about the human manipulation of sediment. Our next event focuses on south Louisiana and the Mississippi River, which Richard Campanella has called the land-making machine,” the officials announced.
