UK: Knott End Sea Defence Project About to Begin

Knott End Sea Defence Project About to Begin

The Environment Agency is planning to reconstruct existing sea defences at Knott End and to build new ones to reduce the risk of flooding to around 560 local homes and businesses.

The Environment Agency will replace the existing post and panel fence on the Promenade with a structure that is more robust.

They will also construct a new footpath next to it.

The Environment Agency is also working with Wyre Council to connect the existing flood defences at the western end of Knott End by building another new sea defence wall around the ferry slipway.

Construction is scheduled to begin this month and it will last around 20 weeks.
