Ned Dimes Marina Dredging on the Way

After several years of planning and permitting, the Ned Dimes Marina shore stabilization and dredging project at Compo Beach is about to begin, according to the Westport Parks & Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy.

Construction works on the project, which will address the erosion of the south shore of the basin, will begin within the next three weeks and will extend through the winter season.

We are looking forward to moving this project ahead to address the ongoing erosion affecting the marina,” McCarthy said.

In addition to dredging, the $800,000 worth project will require the installation of a boulder riprap to keep the shoreline stable, reported the minuteman.
