Agreement Reached on Perce Wharf

Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans announced yesterday that the Government of Canada and the City of Percé have reached an agreement in principle to rebuild the Percé wharf as part of a process to divest the wharf to the city.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada will be responsible for reconstruction of the wharf. Work is slated to start in fall 2016.

This agreement in principle demonstrates the commitment of the City of Percé to ensuring the management and development of this wharf for its residents’ benefit in the years to come,” said Shea.

In the meantime, the Department will work with the City of Percé to develop the plans and specifications. The call for tenders process for reconstruction should begin in spring 2016.
