USACE to Hold Langdon Bend Project Meeting

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public meeting on the draft project implementation report (PIR) with integrated environmental assessment (EA) for the Langdon Bend Interception and Rearing Complex Habitat Project in Nemaha County.

The meeting will be held Monday, July 11, at the Auburn High School gym. Doors will open to the public at 6 p.m.; the meeting will run until 8 p.m.

The project consists of excavating and dredging approximately 566,000 cubic yards of silty sand to create a 4,500-foot-long top-width widening project that interfaces with the main channel of the Missouri River.

The project is located approximately two miles east of the town of Nemaha between River Miles 529 and 532 on the Langdon Bend reach of the Missouri River.
