Royal HaskoningDHV Awarded North Portsea Project

Team Van Oord partner Royal HaskoningDHV has been awarded first place on a major flood and coastal erosion framework in the south of England, and a separate contract to continue works to protect North Portsea Island.

The Southern England Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Consultancy Services Framework, awarded by Portsmouth City Council on behalf of 20 other local authorities as part of the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership, has a total value of up to £40 million.

In a separate business win, Royal HaskoningDHV has also been awarded the North Portsea Island detailed design contract, which will be delivered over the next 3-4 years, and is worth around £35 million including construction.

Team Van Oord was involved in delivery of the first phase of the North Portsea project, the £6 million Anchorage Park Scheme which was completed in December 2015.

The new Portsea Island contract will see Royal HaskoningDHV complete the detailed design of the remaining 6km of coastal defenses, from Tipner Lake to Milton Common. Another TVO partner, Mackley, is working with Royal HaskoningDHV to provide Early Contractor Involvement through the design phases.

Under the Southern England Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Consultancy Services Framework, Royal HaskoningDHV will provide specialist consultancy services to support delivery of flood and coastal erosion protection projects across an area ranging from Dorset to Worthing in West Sussex.
