USA: Officials Seek Bidders for Blount Island Dredging

USACE announces tender for maintenance dredging for 38-foot project  Marine Corps Terminal, berthing areas at  Blount Island, Duval County, Florida.

The project work consists of maintenance dredging of the Marine Corps Terminal, Blount Island, to a 38-Foot required depth with a 2-foot allowable overdepth in Berth 1 (Base) and Berth 2 (Option A). All dredge material shall be placed in the Dayson upland disposal area located on little Marsh Island across the St. Johns River Back Channel from the Marine Corps Terminal. Maximum pumping distance will be approximately 2.9 miles. The magnitude of construction is between $1Million and $5 Million.

The solicitation will be issued on or about 04 June 2010 with bids due on or about 06 July 2010.
