European Bulk Services Expands Dry Bulk Storage Capacity (The Netherlands)

European Bulk Services (EBS) has commenced asphalting a 4.8-hectare site adjacent to the Laurenshaven Terminal in the Botlek area. 250,000 to 300,000 tonnes of dry bulk cargo such as coal and minerals can be stored here from 2012 onwards.

The terminal’s existing grounds have been improved and rearranged, so that at least an extra 100,000 tonnes of coal can be stored there from February 2011. The construction of 800 metres of new conveyer belts makes transhipment faster and more reliable. Moreover, investment in an electromagnetic system will enable the extraction of iron from coal, especially Russian coal. The three floating cranes of EBS have been fully overhauled.
