The Netherlands: German Minister for Transport to Visit Maasvlakte 2

German Minister for Transport to Visit Maasvlakte 2.

Tomorrow, Thursday 17 November, the German Minister for Transport Dr Peter Ramsauer, accompanied by Minister Schultz van Haegen and the German Ambassador to the Netherlands Dr Heinz-Peter Behr, will be visiting the port of Rotterdam.

Ramsauer has a particular interest in the hydraulic aspects of the construction of Maasvlakte 2. The director of the project organisation MV2, Ronald Paul, will receive the visitors in FutureLand. Paul will then take Ramsauer onto the newly-created land. Paul will describe the construction of MV2 in detail, for example at the closure gap, the new quays at the container terminals and the ‘Blockbuster’.

To conclude his visit, the minister will join the board of the Port of Rotterdam Authority on a tour of the port by boat. On board, there will be plenty of opportunity for substantive discussion. Themes include the Rotterdam Port Vision 2030, green mobility, TEN-T, the Betuweroute and German transport policy in general.
