Witteveen+Bos Asks Deltares to Conduct Taman Port Study (Russia)

Deltares

Witteveen+Bos has asked Deltares to conduct a study of a new harbour to be built in Taman, Russia.

Taman is a completely new port located on the Black Sea and it will be Russia’s third largest harbour.

In addition to the quays, the dredging and the land reclamation, the Witteveen+Bos design also includes the breakwaters on either side of the entrance to the harbour.

The stability of the breakwater design will be tested in both the Scheldt flume and the Delta Basin. The tests in the Delta Basin will generate information about wave penetration into the harbour.

To ensure that the measurements are reliable, the morphology of the seabed and the channel at the harbour entrance will also be built to scale.
