Defence Infrastructure Organisation has unveiled plan for the capital dredging and jetty upgrade works at the Portsmouth Harbour.
The work includes:
– A contract for the refurbishment and upgrading of the jetty, berthing facilities and shore services, including high voltage electrical power, for the new Queen Elizabeth Aircraft (QEC) at HMNB Portsmouth,
– Additionally the provision of improved navigation aids associated with the new approach channel,
– Capital dredging works to re-align and deepen the approach channel and deepen Portsmouth Harbour to facilitate the berthing of the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier at HMNB Portsmouth.
