UAE: Van Oord Wins Fujairah Contract
Van Oord has been awarded the EPC contract for the installation of a Single Point Mooring (SPM) system in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
The client is Fujairah Asia Power Company and the contract value amounts to approximately EUR 30 million. Work will start immediately and continue until the end of February 2013.
The project includes the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the SPM and 3 km subsea pipeline, which will provide a new back-up fuel system to the client’s Power and Desalination Plant.
For the execution of the work, Van Oord will deploy a variety of equipment including trailer suction hopper dredgers, a backhoe dredger and pull-barge.
