DCI Completes National Safety Week

National Safety Week is being observed in Dredging Corporation of India, Visakhapatnam from 4th to 9th March 2012.

On this occasion, Capt. D.K. Mohanty, Chairman and Managing Director, DCI, unfurled the Safety Flag at the DCI office premises, and addressed the officers and staff of the corporation.

During his address Capt. Mohanty highlighted the high standards of safety observed in the corporation and advised to improve the same. He has given emphasis on safety to be observed by the floating staff on board the dredger.

CMD conveyed to all employees that ‘safety’ is a basic instinct and quoted examples of a mother Olive Ridley Turtle which takes adequate precautions to ensure the safety of the eggs laid by her along the beach. CMD has also emphasised on wearing seat belt and safety helmets and reminded that, while leaving home one should keep in mind that a family awaits his/her safe return.

Safety Pledge was administered to all employees. Various competitions on safety such as slogan, elocution, poster and essay writing will be held during the week.
