Cochin Port Appoints DCI to Complete ICTT Dredging

The Hindu reports that the Cochin Port Trust has decided to engage Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) to complete the capital dredging work for the International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT).

The port authority said that normal shipping operations have not been affected and that the capital dredging work would be completed within 40 to 50 days.

DCI-owned cutter suction dredger ‘Aquarius’ is currently undergoing repairs at the Cochin Shipyard Limited and the dredger would be ready to complete work under stipulated time.

DCI has now been engaged after the failure of the second company to complete the work.
