According to The Daily Trust, the Osun State government has embarked on dredging of waterways covering about 24km in some parts of the state at a cost of about N189 million to guide against flooding in the state.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Akinrogun Sunday Akere, explained that the state government decided to commit such amount of money to the dredging so as to prevent the recurrence of flood disaster that was experienced in the state before the current administration.
Akere disclosed that Aregbesola’s administration would also establish three fish farm estates, which will be one for each of the three senatorial districts of the state as part of the efforts to ensure food security.
