USA: Delaware Governor Visits Rehoboth Beach

Delaware Governor Jack Markell will be in Rehoboth Beach this morning to speak at a Delaware Ocean Beaches Nourishment event, according to WGMD.com.

The event will highlight beach nourishment projects in Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, South Bethany and Fenwick Island.

Joining Gov. Markell will be DNREC Secretary Collin O’Mara, Delaware’s Congressional Delegation, Rehoboth Beach Mayor Cooper and representatives from the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers.

The event will highlight the more than $35 million in ocean beach nourishment recently completed that protect communities from flooding and coastal storms and provide recreational areas as well as the recent report naming Rehoboth and Dewey Beach the cleanest beaches in the nation.
