Roen Salvage to Dredge Green Bay Harbor

Sturgeon Bay-based Roen Salvage Co. has won a $2.5 million contract to dredge Green Bay Harbor.

According to doorcountydailynews.com, this work will involve dredging 161,000 cubic yards of shoaled material from the harbor and placing it in the Bayport Confined Disposal Facility.

Lt. Col. Robert Ellis of Wilmington District, said: “This is an important harbor for the regional economy and Great Lakes Navigation System. Raw materials including coal, limestone, cement and salt are shipped through this harbor.”
