Ackermans & van Haaren: Half Year Results 2012 (Belgium)

Ackermans & van Haaren Half Year Results 2012

The board of directors of Ackermans & van Haaren NV announces that the consolidated net result (group share) for the first half of 2012 amounts to 67.8 million euros (compared to 93.4 million euros at the end of June 2011).

If the non-recurring profit of 27.9 million euros of Bank J.Van Breda & Co that was included in the results for the first half of 2011 is not taken into account, AvH achieved a slight increase (+3.5%) in its half-year results with this profit of 67.8 million euros, despite a challenging economic environment.

The results for DEME are still affected by the weaker first quarter of 2012, when several sites were still in a start-up phase and a number of major vessels from the fleet were under maintenance or being repaired. Boosted by important new contracts and a record order book amounting to 3,446 million euros, DEME is anticipating a period of very high activity.
