American Construction Co. of Tacoma has won a $1.88 million contract from the Army Corps of Engineers to dredge the Swinomish Navigation Channel.

According to djc.com, the Port of Skagit on September 18 will hold a ceremony to mark the start of this project.

The contractor plans to move in its dredger before the event and start work the next day.
