China: CCCC Bags Guangzhou Contract

On September 7, the consortium of Fourth Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. and CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd. signed the contract for dredging, reclamation and soft foundation treatment works of Phase 3 project in Nansha port zone of Guangzhou Port, with a total value of 940 million yuan.

The project is located in Nansha zone of Guangzhou Port on Longxue Island. Section I sub-project undertaken by CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd. involves dredging, cofferdam construction and soft foundation treatment, with dredging quantities of some 19 million cubic meters, a total cofferdam length of some 585 meters, a soft foundation treatment area of some 1.03 million square meters and a construction period of 668 days; Section II sub-project undertaken by the consortium of Fourth Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. involves dredging, reclamation and soft foundation treatment, with dredging, reclamation and land excavation quantities of some 26.8 million cubic meters, a soft foundation treatment area of 874,000 meters and a construction period of 1,033 days.

The project will play a significant role in alleviating the insufficiency of the container through capacity of Guangzhou Port, adapting to ship upsizing and perfecting the function of barge transfer.
