NAMPORT Introduces Expansion Plans for Walvis Bay

The Namibia Port Authority (NAMPORT) has unveiled plans to spend more than N$3 billion on the expansion of a new container terminal at Walvis Bay.

β€œThe large-scale expansion programme at Namport will contribute to government’s goal of job creation through the Targeted Intervention Programme for Employment and Economic Growth (TIPEEG),β€œ said Erongo Regional Governor, Cleophas Mutjavikua.

According to allafrica.com, over the past two years Namport invested N$57 million in the acquisition of two mobile harbour cranes, and bought six rubber-tyre gantries at a cost of N$93 million to bring about the required efficiency in its yard operations.
