UK: Funding Secured for Cart River Dredging

Building plans for a renewable energy industry hub on the banks of the River Cart have received a GBP 350,000 boost, reports the Evening Times.

The National Renewables Infrastructure Fund, which has been established to support the development of port and near-port manufacturing locations for offshore wind turbines and related developments including test and demonstration activity, has secured money for the Cart River project realization.

Renfrewshire Council will monitor the project which will include dredging of the short Scottish river.

The need for greater traffic capacity was the main reason for starting this project, which will result in improved traffic performance.
