Hampton Harbor Dredging About to Begin

The Division of Parks and Recreation notified visitors to Hampton Beach State Park to expect machinery and equipment on the beaches and roads in response to the Hampton Harbor dredging project.

The division will be relocating sand pumped onto the beach at South Beach to replenish the northern end of Hampton Beach near Rocky Bend.

This dredging project is being done by the U.S. Army of Corps of Engineers.

At least 220 million tons of sand will be removed from Hampton Harbor and deposited on or close to nearby beaches.
