According to Monmouth County Freeholder Thomas Arnone, the Lake Takanassee in Long Branch is on the county’s list of dredging projects.

“I know we are having some early discussions on doing some dredging for you. I will tell you that right now we are dredging a lake in Colts Neck and will then be moving on to Spring Lake. Our goal is to put two (dredging) projects a year on the books for our public works, that’s pretty much all we can handle because we only have a certain of time when we can dredge, ” stated Arnone, during Tuesday night’s Long Branch Council meeting.

He added that the county can use the material that is dredged from the bottom of the lake at soil cover at its reclamation center, rather than paying $7.50 per yard for a similar type of material, patch.com reports.
