Vigilance Awareness Week Inaugurated

The observance of “Vigilance Awareness Week – 2012” has commenced in the corporate headquarters of Dredging Corporation of India Limited.

The Commissioner of Police Shri J. Purnachandra Rao, IPS in his inaugural address has emphasized the need for blending character and excellence in business management.

He stated that the human history unambiguously shows that character is higher than intellect and as such leveraging of technology for better vigilance administration has to be reinforced with closer focus on ethical values of the organization.

Prof. A. Prasanna Kumar, former Rector, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam has delivered the key note address on the occasion. In his address, he has referred to the continuous deterioration of the ethical values in society over the years.

The CMD, DCI Capt. D.K. Mohanty administered the vigilance pledge to DCI employees. In his address Capt. Mohanty has called for more focus on preventive vigilance and insulating the organization from ill effects of negligence in basic managerial processes.

It is advisable that top leadership always sets the tone for transparency and accountability in the functioning of the organization so that scope for corrupt practices is eliminated in the very initial stages of transactions.

Shri S. Vasudeva Rao, CVO welcomed the gathering. Shri P.V. Ramana Murthy, Director (Finance) was present. Shri T. Prasada Rao, HOD (HR) proposed the vote of thanks.

A large gathering of employees of DCI participated in the inaugural function with enthusiasm.
