In the next couple of days, the Pearl River, once the largest dredger in the world, should complete the deepening and widening program at the Eemshaven seaport, Groningen.

The dredging work is undertaken on the Doekegatkanaal, inside of the harbor (near the harbor entrance / exit to the Ems).

These dredging activities are part of the Energy Park extension plan.

The trailing suction hopper dredger Pearl River, owned by Dredging Environmental and Marine Engineering N.V. (DEME), is over 180 meters long and 28 meters wide.
