The dredging project on the Ba River is currently underway, according to Town Council Special Administrator Arun Prasad.
He stated that the China Railway Group started dredging works this week adding people are really happy knowing their flooding issue will be addressed, reports fijivillage.com.
The dredging works will be carried out in three phases with the first one to be completed by the end of next month, the China Railway Group announced in a statement.
Administrator added that the costs of dredging work in the first phase are around $3million.
