Amphibex 400 Arrives in South Lafourche

A donated dredge and excavator arrived in south Lafourche last week and went to work Wednesday, according to houmatoday.com.

This new piece of equipment, called the Amphibex 400, will help to create new wetlands outside the south Lafourche levee system near Grand Isle.

Windell Curole, the South Lafourche Levee Director, said: “It’s like a Tonka truck on Christmas morning.”

The Amphibex 400 is manufactured by Normrock Industries in Terrebonne, Canada.

The fruit of many years of research and innovations, the Amphibex 400 represents the ultimate environmentally sensitive machine by being able to work without disturbing marine and shore line ecosystems.

Economical and versatile, the Amphibex 400 is filled with enough power and strength to carry out a large wide variety of work.

A truly green technology, the Amphibex 400 is also renowned for the ecological character of its operation.

The equipment was donated for three weeks to do restoration work in south Lafourche by Normrock and Upperline Equipment of New Orleans, reports houmatoday.com.
