Dredging Project at Northern Tuas Basin Underway (Singapore)

Dredging Project at Northern Tuas Basin Underway

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has informed the shipping, harbour craft and pleasure craft communities in Singapore’s waters that the Northern Tuas Basin dredging program is currently underway.

Dredging works will be carried out with the grab dredgers, which will be held by 4-point anchoring system and each anchor position will be marked by a yellow buoy.

The dredgers, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50 metre radius centred at the dredgers.

Materials dredged during this project will be transported to the designated dumping ground by the hopper barges.

During the operation, these dredging vessels will be attended by tug boats. A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working areas to warn other crafts of the project.
