On Thursday July 4th, Ching Fu Shipbuilding Ltd. relaunched the 2400 m3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger from dry dock.

After the official launching from slipway on April 15th, the TSHD was temporarily dry-docked to complete the hull outfitting and paint work.

On the same day of relaunching the name of the dredger was revealed: KAO 505.

The KOA 505 is constructed for the Kaohsiung Harbor Bureau and will be used to maintain Kaohsiung port and conduct small capital dredging projects.

Within the coming months, the outfitting and testing of the dredger will be completed along quayside and delivery is scheduled for 3rd quarter 2013.

For this project HollandMT has supplied the TSHD design (in cooperation with FKAB) and all dredging equipment.
