Corps to Invite Bids for Lake Borgne Shoreline Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, has introduced a plan for the Lake Borgne wetland creation and shoreline protection project.

This massive development program will include flotation dredging for site access, repairs to the previously constructed Bayou Bienvenue stone foreshore protection dike along the south shore of Lake Borgne, installation of warning signs with piles at specified locations along both the Bayou Bienvenue and Bayou Dupre shoreline protection reaches, and installation of warning signs and lanterns at the MRGO rock closure.

The total cost is estimated between of $5 mln and $10 mln, and the invitation for bids will be issued on or about September 6, 2013.
