Officials Commission Berth 19 at Mombasa Port

President Uhuru Kenyatta together with leaders from other East African Community member states yesterday commissioned the new Mombasa Port Berth 19.

I was joined by Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni and Rwanda President Paul Kagame during the official commissioning of the K.P.A Berth No 19. This facility reflects the expanded capacity at the Port of Mombasa and will enable berthing of large container ships. It is the single largest berth capacity expansion undertaken in 35 years,” stated Kenyatta.

He added that these improvements at the port and integration of the East African Community is crucial to allow producers in the agricultural, tertiary and industrial sector in the region to produce sustainably with markets available to them.
