Stolthaven Terminal Dredging Project Begins

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore informed the shipping, harbour craft and pleasure craft communities in Singapore’s waters that the Stolthaven Terminal dredging project commenced this week.

This development program, located at Jurang Island, will be carried out by dredger held in position with 4 anchors.

The dredging vessel, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50 m radius centered at the dredger.

Dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping ground by the hopper barges assisted by pusher tugs.

During the operation, the dredger will be attended by a tug boat which will be used to shift the dredging vessel.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other crafts of the project.

The completion date is scheduled for 30 November 2013.
