Manasquan Beach Restoration Kicks Off

The Manasquan beach restoration project will commence today, temporarily limiting access to the borough’s beaches.

During this phase of the project you will see the contractor’s tug boat and barges delivering 30” diameter pipe into the Manasquan Inlet to temporarily store it until they are ready to land the pipe on the beach. This pipe is called a submerged line as it will placed on the bottom of the ocean between the beach and an offshore location that has sufficient water depth for the contractor’s dredge to be able to pump the sand from,” announced manasquan-nj.com.

At this time beach access will only be prohibited in the direct work area that the pipe will land on the beach. The walkway along the beach will be open.
