PMAESA Conference Starts Next Month

Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) will host the Africa Economic Maritime Integration Conference on 4 and 5 November 2013 at the International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa.

The conference will feature 20 world-class speakers in the fields of economics, commerce and industry, banking sector, port operations, technology and innovation.

“We envisage about 200 senior executives from the world’s leading port authorities, terminal operators, cargo owners, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and equipment suppliers to attend the conference. The theme of the conference is Africa’s Maritime Economic Integration and the business programme is designed in such a way to address maritime-related topics affecting the Continent (and in particular sub-Saharan Africa) as a whole. Our session themes will focus on initiatives, models, best practices and solutions to create maritime economic integration in Africa,” the officials announced.

The Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa (PMAESA) with 19 full members is the largest and most pertinent international association addressing port and maritime-related issues of the sub-Saharan region. PMAESA is planning a Maritime Conference in conjunction with Transnet National Ports Authority to coincide with its 40th anniversary celebrations.
