Corps Announces Morehead Dredging Plan

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, has announced a plan for the Morehead City Harbor dredging program.

This deepening project will include removal of approximately 600,000 to 700,000 cubic yards of material from the mentioned area, and disposal onto the Fort Macon and Atlantic beaches. The environmental window for the beach disposal is 16 November 2013 to 30 April 2014.

The total cost of this dredging contract is between $5 mln and $10 mln, and the proposals will be due on or about 27 November 2013.
