The CEDA – IADC book Environmental Aspects of Dredging (Ed. Nick Bray) published by Taylor & Francis in 2008 is now available in Russian language.

The idea to translate the book emerged during the seminar ‘Eco-friendly Dredging in the Modern World’ that took place in 2009 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The seminar was organized in co-operation by CEDA and the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (RSHU) and marked the start of a fruitful and close the co-operation between the two organisations, resulting in a number of successful joint undertakings since.

In view of the significant role of dredging in a large number of planned or ongoing projects in the area of St. Petersburg and in other parts of Russia the book is expected to be an essential source of knowledge and best practice for a great number of Russian professionals. The book is also meant to be used as handbook by the Master Programme “Applied Marine Ecology” of RSHU within the framework of the TEMPUS – eMaris project.

The publication of the Russian edition has been made possible with financial support of the project.
