USA: Park Shore Renourishment Nears End

Park Shore Renourishment Nears End

Beach renourishment is in the final stages of completion at Park Shore and Lowdermilk Park beaches.

Collier County Coastal Zone Management Manager Gary McAlpin said that beach access off Horizon Way will be temporarily available this weekend since crews have completed spreading sand along that beach area. It will need to be limited again for a few days next week while the crews demobilize their equipment.

The crews are expected to be demobilized by late next week allowing full public access to the newly renourished beach area. Park Shore Beach from the area south of Clam Pass to just north of Doctors Pass received 122,500 tons of sand.

At the Lowdermilk Park beach area, crews are expected to complete renourishment work by the end of next week as well. It is expected that a total of 105,000 tons of sand will have been spread along the Naples beaches when that project is completed.
