EPA Schedules Meeting on Hudson River Dredging (USA)

EPA Schedules Meeting on Hudson River Dredging

The Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a public information session to discuss upcoming dredging activities in the stretch of river between Thompson Island and Fort Miller dams.

This meeting is scheduled for today, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, in Bacon Hill Reformed Church, 355 Route 32, Schuylerville, NY.

The landmark General Electric cleanup of the PCBs that make the Hudson the nation’s largest Superfund site is more than three-fourths complete and a year ahead of schedule.

With time and capacity to spare, Riverkeeper and a coalition continue to press GE to conduct critically important dredging in the Hudson’s PCB-laden navigational channel and address the 136 acres of highly contaminated river sediments already identified as a cause of delay for the river’s full recovery.
